street science: bringing it home pt. 1

March 30, 2011

i’ve been wanting to do a new york edition of street science for a while, but it wasn’t until checking out waer rock’s world class new york tropical mix that it became clear the time is now!

waer rock will be joining me tonight from 10-11pm on whfr to play a bunch of tracks from the mix and also talk with me about what makes new york such a great incubator for tropical music. we’ll also be forecasting for summer 2011, which cannot seem to get here soon enough.

since there’s way more great dance and electronic music coming out of new york than can be contained in an hour, puja patel, nightlife writer for the village voice will be joining me in two weeks (4/13) for a second edition full of more up and coming dance and electronic tunes that’ll pop off another #summerofliming.

and if you can’t get enough new york city radio, i highly recommending checking out tabu with nuria on wbar, mondays from 2pm-4pm & fireworks with jess jubilee on brooklyn radio.
