instead of doing mixtape round-ups, i usually update the link category “mixes being felt” on the right-hand bar.  sorry for the passive voice,  but usually the listening IS passive.  the list is a pretty accurate indication of the music that gets me through my work day and commute.  i look for mixes that motivate me to focus on task completion, while also creating a positive background atmosphere (an aural aura?) for each day.  this week has been very west coast-centric.  my happy place has bounced between light “DJ FEELINGS LIVE LOVE SAD SEXY SCARY CLUB BASS SOUL” and the dark “At LAX crews are responding to an incident involving a urinal with ‘continual flush‘”, but the dry heat, iced coffee, and sunset vibes are bleeding thru.
