I was wondering… how much do musicians wonder about when and where their songs are played? Any musicians with widely circulated songs chime in. Today I was in a mall’s parking lot, early for a Japanese lesson I was going to teach, and I decided to take a little nap in the car. The music was on, the iPod was on shuffle, and these two songs came on.

The first is by my favorite group, Yo La Tengo. The second is by a great Japanese band, Yura Yura Teikoku (the song’s title, “Koi ga Shitai” means “I want to make love.”)
